Peter Hulsmans and Anne-Mie Melis have collaborated during a research project at Lokaal 01. Hulsmans’ practice sprouts from our contemporary urban environment. Melis’ practice touches on our current natural world. Inspired by the space and local natural remnants in the vicinity of Lokaal 01, we have anticipated, while confronting our practice, to respond to this, maintaining the focus on the research and the creative process. The concept of a site-specific sculptural installation in combination with drawing and the moving image was the proposed initial working context.
